Yea kicking a football 50 yards isn't much. If they don't do jack why make a thread? [Insert] Star Treck guy.

Years Experience Minimum Salary
0 $285,000
1 $360,000
2 $435,000
3 $510,000
46 $595,000
79 $720,000
10+ $820,000

They usually don't make much more than the minimum. A coworker of my wife's is a former kicker's wife he played a couple of years and was cut, he's now an insurance agent, so I don't think they make a whole lot of money.

i think he meant they don't do jack in regards to they don't bust their *** all game haha

but they do a lot... and they do in fact, make or break a team or game.... with 2 seconds left and you're on the 42 yard lane and need a field goal-- you better have a good one, thats for damn sure

When former Chicago Bears punter Todd Sauerbrun got a divorce from his wife, we moved his wife's stuff out of the house. It was a nice sized home, nothing too extravagant, considering the area, but definitely in the nicer area of the Chicago suburbs.

Your field goal kicker is easily the most important player on the team.

With that being said, the league minimum is $280,000/year. Any decent kicker, is making $1m.

They can't do incentives though, because that goes against your salary cap.

You also can't sign a guy for the league minimum and then offer him a multi-million dollar bonus to try and cheat the salary cap. It's called the Deion Sanders Rule.

they can do bonus though IE if you stay with the team X years, then you get X dollars (not part of salary cap)

You dumb expletive. Do you even watch football? How many games in the first 4 weeks of the NFL have been decided by a last second field goal? How many college games have also been decided by a last second field goal in the last 3 or 4 weeks?

You sir, are a dumb **** if you believe they "don't do jack". Click the image to open in full size.

Didn't the Chargers have a rugby player as their punter a few years ago? I seem to remember the Chargers punter tackling someone by sticking his arm out and clotheslining the guy.

Darren Bennet. And I faintly recall the play you're referring too. But it doesn't matter anymore because Norv Turner has killed our team. Click the image to open in full size.
