Default How long does it take you to recover from a hard night of drinking?

I can definietly tell as I get older, it takes a LOT longer to recover the next day. In my early 20s, I'd up up and ready to go by noon, but today I was worthless until almost 7pm! I only drank 5 or 6 pints of Stella and a few shots of Cazadores Reposado tequila over 5 or 6 hours... I didn't vomit, but if I tried to get out of bed I got so dizzy I'd almost fall over.
Uggh. I should just drink less.

Depends on what I drink.

If I drink whiskey I'm fine by 8-9am or as soon as I wake up.

If I drink wine I feel lazy till around noon.

Rum, forget it, I hate the stuff and it hates me.

Vodka usually an hour after I eat something.

If I mix and drink more then one kind of liquor though forget it, I'm worthless all day.

If liquor is in the mix usually I'm worthless the rest of the day.

If its just beer, I'm mostly fine, I'll just sweat more.

I'm one of the lucky ones. I don't get hangovers no matter how much I drink. Closest thing to getting a hangover is being dehydrated the next day. My friends thought I was full of it. They brought me non stop drinks all night. Next morning I was at their houses at 7 in the morning banging on their doors. Man they were pissed.

So I don't waste the next day, I just drink enough to get faded, but not flat out drunk anymore, so I don't have to worry about hangovers. Sometimes I'll drink a little too much, but as long as I drink a bottle of water before bed, and right when I wake up, I feel a lot better. I think I know my limits much better now, than when I was younger.

About the same as the Chairman

Note: for the purpose of this thread, hard drinking = waking up with that where am I and how did I get here feeling. At least 10 drinks.
Up until my mid-20s, I could go all night and be fine by 11:00.
After that point, it gradually got worse.
Now, after a really rough night, I will wake up by 9ish and still be drunk until noon or so, after which my day is inescapably crappy. On a moderately rough night, I will have a hangover that just lingers as a generally dazed feeling all day. On a weak night, I can wake up by 7 or 8 and be functional all day and fine by noonish (like today Click the image to open in full size. ).

As a buddy says, as you get older, you run lower on "hit points" Click the image to open in full size.

When I stick to just brewskies, I'm usually cool one I wake up. If I stick to just booze, and if I don't drink water before I crash, I'll be hungover till early afternoon. If I mix, then I hope that I don't have **** to do the next day.

Were you out in the sun a lot yesterday/while you were drinking? Because that will mad dehydrate you. And even if you only have a few, you will still feel awful
When I was in Mexico, I got shittered 4 nights in a row (read: massively bombed) and on the 5th day I couldn't see properly and was dizzy and had a big headache. Couldn't walk straight or nothing... wasted a day of vacation with pretty ladies Click the image to open in full size.

I just need some hot pho the day after and I'm usually fine. Soju (Korean liquor) gives you really bad hangovers. Click the image to open in full size.

Typically speaking it takes 3oz of water for you body to process 1oz of alcohol. A hangover is when your body takes the water that surrounds your brain to process all the alcohol, thereby leaving the brain to thrash against the skull.

Knowing this I never really have a hangover, I just start drinking water like mad when the night is almost over and am fine whenever I wake up.

I just drink a lot of water before I go to sleep and I'm fine in the morning. This is usually after taking about 15 shots. I guess my body has high alcohol tolerance... but it's not like that's a good thing...
