I did this with my 06 GTI , you can do it with a flat bed to put it in... and one to get it out..

I put a matress on each side. Drove from CA to CT. With a car on a trailer in the back

There are to big bumps in the back of the truck so you might not be able to fit if your car is to wide. you wont be able to open the doors but if you have a sun roof you can get out that way or your trunk

Sorry but there isnt going to be a fail inless his car is to wide or to long. In that case he would just have to up the size of the truck. Blah someone could do a search on my name because I asked this same question back in July lol

You stole a car, drove it to a shop, and stripped it down?

but what is the ****ing point of getting the uhaul if the only thing you can fit in it is a car? just drive the car and don't pay for the uhaul plus more to put gas in it. This thread is seriously crazy, what the hell is going on in here.

and how did you make $11k driving a car across country in a uhaul. shady ****! or just lies

Dude if you put your car in there, and brake hard once while its in the back, its just going to slide out. There is NO WAY to secure your car into the box. My friends dad owns a shipping company, they ship cars, - they have a total of 5 straps on there "regular size cars". Your risking too much over a 8000.00 car. just drive or get it shipped.

you can do it, dont listen to the tools who know NOTHING posting nonsense. I have done this MANY times and never had a problem.

First you need to make sure your car will fit in the truck between the wheel wells.

You need to find a loading ramp that is the height of the truck and make/rent ramps to get the car inside. there should be a bunch of them in an industrial area. We used the one at our shop and used sandbags to cover the 3" difference.

once the car is inside you will need to get a few 2X4s. put one in front and one in rear of the tires the whole width of the car.Screw them to the floor. Next run a small one on the outside of the wheel to the top of the 2 screwed to the floor. this will keep the car from moving side to side.

Next you will need to strap the car down. You can use heavy duty ratchet straps or rope tied to the wheels. This is hard to explain, if you are serious PM me and ill send you pics.

Also make sure that you have a place to unload at the destination

Just use long screws and screw the tires right to the floor of the truck.

...obviously military and are doing this for a DITY PCS move...

Gas should be a tax write off so... who cares. Max the weight (too easy), drive 2 cars, make money, call it a trip.

If your heart is set and you are @ Bragg/Drum then all you need to do is find the loading racks for vehicle (HMMV, Brad, Abrams) transport onto the contractor rigs/HETTs. Should be able to pop in and drive her aboard assuming she'll fit.

Excellent I'll give them another call after they wake up (lazy bastards). I would jump all over a 2 car trailer.

500$ is more than I'm willing to spend, since I have furniture etc to move as well.

You really think you can load furniture AND a vehicle into a 16' box????
You have no easy way of loading an almost 5,000 lb vehicle onto and off the truck

Ask Rude Awakening what he'd do.
My Pacifica is over 16 feet long??? Are you nuts?? I'll send Mr. Rude Awakening a PM, thanks for the input

Excellent advice. I drive heavy cargo on a daily basis, just not in such circumstances. I understand what you are saying to do
