Default How to clean Timberland boots?

I just want to say the brush with an eraser you buy from them do not work! I have 3 pairs of timbs and that eraser hardly takes any dirt off. I'm now wearing my pair of black timbs and the color is all faded from the snow and salt. Any of you guys have good advice on how to clean them? Does soap and water worK?

Are they the suede/suede like soft leather ones? Or the hiking boots? You don't want to use soap and water on suede.

I clean mine with water and a little brush... 4 months and still look brand new....

Everytime I come from the club they're black as can be.... Then I do the water and brush and they go back to the nice tan color...
