nothing.

people like to call aftermarket exhaust manifolds headers, and get mad if you call your stock exhaust manifold a header. They all do the same thing.

A header is an exhaust manifold.

The simple definition of a manifold is: A pipe or chamber having multiple apertures for making connections.

yes. there is no difference. except the stock one that is more commonly known as manifold is cast. and a "header" is not. but you never hear someone say I got a new turbo header today.... because its a turbo manifold I think they should all just be called manifolds. but whatever

Manifold is a collector of multiple flow paths. A header is a collector of multiple exhaust paths from an engine.

Same thing. A header is a specific type of manifold that is specifically on an engine. There's a million different types of manifolds; used in sewers, process piping, pumping stations.... A header is just one that is used on engines.

In my book.

Exhaust Manifold is Stock

Headers are Aftermarket.

Both do the same thing, Just a matter of Preferance.

An exhaust manifold or header collects the exhaust gases from multiple cylinders into one pipe.

The word "manifold" literally means "hand shaped", which arises from the "fingers" leading to each cylinder.

Yeah, I used to build manifolds all the time.
They were sprinkler manifolds, but whatever.

Where does an aftermarket turbo manifold place in your book? Click the image to open in full size.

'header' is slang.

there's no difference in meaning but one is technically correct terminology, the other isn't
