Default Denver Airport to Breckenridge: Best way to get there?

There has to be a ton of H-Ters who have made this trip.

From what I understand it's about ~100 miles from Denver to Breckenridge. What shuttle or mode of transportation can you guys recommend using to get between those two places?

I'm making the trip with a friend and at $55 each way for the CME, it might be worth it just to rent a car.

Rent a car, the drive through the mountains can be a bit hairy at night, but during the day it's not bad at all.

They do have several shuttles that travel from denver to the mountains, that would be ideal but also a rental car is a good choice because it offers you freedom of driving around.

Hope that helps.

-colorado mtn express ain't bad.

-alot of the hotels in breck/vail/copper now charge for parking. if it snows and your parked outdoors, you may have to remove a couple of feet of snow just to back out. packing a shovel? gas is still $2.59....

-having a car is nice.....I-70 weekend skier traffic, finding a spot in breck is laughable at night, drinking and driving, driving and crashing. on a side note, chicks will go home with you just so they don't have to take the summit stage (bus) home from the bars. but buses are jammed packed full of drunk women at 2am(last ride and free).....on the ride home, last chance ***** if you didn't hook up at the bar. so its a toss up.

The good news is we only need to drive to a friend's place in Breckenridge. The car will then sit the next 4 days without having to move until we have to go back to the airport.

Thanks for all of your responses.
I may even give craigslist a try, haha.
