So I just realized my tags are expired but I never received the registration renewal forms to my registered address. I recently figured out that you can pay online, so I check and now they want a $100 late fee...is this my fault and is there any point in trying to fight this?
Sorry but yes it is your fault, and most likely you will have to pay it all. You are responsible for renewal regardless if you did or did not receive the notice from the DMV.
Here is a ton of info on all the renewal process, if you moved recently, you can call and try to talk to someone about it, but I doubt you will get anywhere with it. BOL! http://dmv.ca.gov/vr/vr_info.htm
I just went through this yesterday morning. I went down to the DMV to complain and after waiting six hours, I was told I had to pay. I ended up not paying because I didn't have the money and upon leaving the parking lot I was cited for expired tags and went to jail because of warrants. Upon arriving in jail, they deported me back to Mexico. I just got back in town this morning and it could've all been avoided had I paid my $100 late fee.
I was wrong, RonJ@HT DIDN'T delete my signature, I'm so sorry Ron.
RonJ@HT is my hero.
I love you captain Ron!
