Re: 4 door pickup trucks with good gas mileage? (Knightsport)
F150 is good. I assume you're gonna be towing a boat and want to fit more than 2 friends in the truck with you?? lol.
what about supercabs or are you stuck on crewcabs?? generally get a mpg or 2 higher due to less weight and you can get a longer bed as well.
It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protestors to burn the flag.

My diesel Ram gets 19/22. That and I can move a forest and kill half the bird population at 1/2 throttle.

Just finished a 1300 mile round trip from SoCal, Vegas, Reno, Tahoe for the BITD V2R race and achieved an average of 20mpg for the entire trip. This is while carrying ~1000lbs in the bed of tools tires, race gas camping gear etcc.
The ability to have power and have mpg is amazing.
The new tundra in our group was getting ~6mpg towing. The 08 F450 was getting 8mpg it gets that even when 24k LBS are hooked up. The tacomas were in the 15mpg range.
The other Duramax was getting similar to me.
I say look for a 05-07 Chevy duramax
07 Dirtymax 4x4 CCSB Cognito'd.
On a farm, or in the Desert.
IIRC the ford ranger has always had the better side of the gas mileage.
I had a 2wd 2.5l ranger, reg. cab and easily got 27+ mpg. Could haul plywood, drywall, etc. I never had the need to tow anything though or transport more than one other person. If you want good mpg and 4 doors, just buy something that can pull a small trailer, like a small suv or a subaru forester. If you need a big truck to haul/tow, you'll have to sacrific mpg.
