Default "Girl killed in Fountain Valley crash"

some friends told me about this so i decided to check the local paper's online page and found it. the intersection is not too far from me. i never thought that anyone would be racing down this street because there is usually a speed-trap at this intersection. Click the image to open in full size.

Girl killed in Fountain Valley crash
One of the cars could have been street-racing according to a man who said he witnessed the collision.

By JEFF OVERLEY
The Orange County Register

FOUNTAIN VALLEY A girl died today after the silver Ford Mustang she was riding in collided with another car, police said.

The accident occurred about 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Heil Avenue. The girl, whose name was not released, died at the scene.

A woman driver and two other female passengers in the Mustang were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries following the crash, Capt. Dan Llorens of the Fountain Valley Police Department said.

The other car, a white Nissan, was driven by a man who also sustained serious injuries, Llorens said. His name was not released, but a man who said he was his brother described him as an 18-year-old Anaheim resident and graduate of Magnolia High School. There were no passengers in the car.

The Nissan was speeding and racing a white BMW just before the crash, said Jose Guillen, a 26-year-old Santa Ana resident who said he witnessed the accident.

Llorens said the Mustang turned left in front of the Nissan but it was unclear who was at fault. No citations were issued pending the results of an investigation, Llorens said.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
A ten-year-old girl was killed when the Mustang she was riding in collided with another vehicle.

Police say the driver of a white 1996 Nissan 240 SX going north on Brookhurst collided with a silver 2000 Mustang, which was turning left into the Fountain Valley Recreation Center.

The occupants of the Mustang were initially trapped in their vehicle, but freed with the use of Jaws of Life equipment.

The girl reportedly died at the scene. The other occupants were taken to hospitals with serious injuries.

Police asked that any witnesses to the collision call the Fountain Valley Police Traffic Bureau at (714) 593-4481.

I saw a short clip of it on fox11 news. The white Nissan looked like a s14.

i posted this on a another forum since i actually drove by the scene on the way to the store... the nissan was indeed a mildly modified s14, but the mustang was seriously messed up.. i never saw a white bmw at the scene

i hope the other girls pull it through, i feel bad for the family of the little girl

i saw the aftermath. i feel bad for the driver turning left from brookhurst into mile square park just to kick it with the 10 year old. god damn 240 created a mess, and the bmw ****** took off. neither of the two gots the heart for the people in the mustang...

i got out of the 240 scene. seeing how everyone think they're crazy with their sr or ka-t or even just a plain joe, they got the respect they already want, but by endangering the people around them like how this happened here, pretty pathetic. zero respect there. i somewhat recognize the s14 from previous 240 meets... but i cannot be sure

i don't normally talk crap about street racing because it can be done fairly safely but stuff like this is just stupid. You don't race on busy streets.

i'm no supporting street racing but most of you guys are jumping onto that conclusion..

if u live by here and u see the street you would know why people speed on it.. not that it is ok or i encuraged it but i'm just saying

i've seen 3 new cast on it so far and no1 said anything about street racing.

its just some ******* who doesnt know how to drive right speeding down a busy street.

When people race and get into accidents with themselves, it's actually funny. Karma at it's best. But when there's other people involved. Click the image to open in full size. Kinda hope the guy in the Nissan has some sort of medical complication and remains paralysed for the rest of his life. That'll teach him.

A fate worst than death

If you have to street race, do it in an industrial complex at 2 am.

I've seen too many high school students thinking a busy street in the middle of the day is a good place for a street race. I'm sad to see someone so small die from some idiot racing mentality.
