What kind of wheels are these?
I keep seeing them on cars on this forum and I don't know what they are. They remind me of something but I can't put my finger on it. 4dred6, I apologize for the pic theivery...
What are these wheels from? I thought maybe a mid-80s Prelude, but they look like an Alfa Romeo Milano wheel. What the heck are these?

More commonly referred to as "BMW Bottlecaps", they are indeed from e30 and e28 BMW's.

Re: What kind of wheels are these?
They probably weigh more, designed for a RWD car, and after random googling it appears they have a 0.9mm larger center bore. Fine if your lugs hold tight. It's like some cars have a 5x115 bolt pattern and some have 5x114.3 and they kinda work in some situations and in others they don't.
One of these days I'll do my googling BEFORE I post. But hey, maybe someone else was thinking the same thing.
This also opens up other possibilities. BBS-style mesh wheels from later 80s early 90s E30...steelies so you can have lip...or some old-school looking 2002 wheels even...

But, for your information, Center Bore is not a measurement for the dimensions of the lug pattern. Center Bore is a measurement for the hole in the middle of the wheel, which is used in reference to the hub bore on the car. This measurement helps with clearance to the axle nut or wheel bearing, as well. The only thing that the .9mm difference in Center Bore will mean, is that you'll need a certain size of hubcentric rings for the wheel to seat snugly over your car's hub. Hubcentric rings are not always necessary, but are typically an advised purchase for any wheel. For example, OEM optional alloys for the Scion xB come with hubcentric rings for proper seating. In summary, center bore has almost nothing to do with lug pattern measurement.
A key example of center bore sizing causing problems:
You cannot put certain 4x100 Miata wheels on Civics, because the wheel center bore is 54.1mm. This does not clear the Civic standard 56.1mm hub bore, and therefore the wheel will not seat properly at all. This is EXTREMELY dangerous, by the way.

Re: What kind of wheels are these?
I can imagine that being a problem. Sure there's probably a shop out there who could bore the thing out from 54 to 56 but it might not be worth it. I once wanted to powdercoat some MX3 wheels in red and they wanted more to powdercoat the existing wheels than new already red wheels from Enkei or something would have cost.
