just tightening them in general is a good idea or your wheel falls off like it did on me.
I torqued all wheels but in the morning forgot that I didn't tighten the tie rod end. was too early to use air rachet so I took off the wheel and tightened the tie rod end...then hand tightened the lug nuts to tighten later...
well of course I forgot and drove off...bad deal. luckily no damage except inside the wheel (scraped from the rotor) and a badly damaged ego and lots of embarrasement.

Usually (not always, but usually) you will feel or hear a vibration before they reach the point of actually falling off. If you feel or hear a vibration that might be a loose wheel, pull over immediately and check your lug nuts.

haha yea, I know...I felt a bit of vibration...but the crazy part was, all 4 lugs flew off at once. I found them all in the same spot on the road. what are the chances of that...seriously...pretty crazy stuff. Helped that the fender kept the wheel from flying off too so the only damage was my ego and a scratched up rim (inside where the rotor/dust shield scraped it)
