The better more usefull question to ask is what is the best tire size for my car?
What car do you have? (make, model, year, and package) Also, HXs are 14X5 right?
Edit: Also noticed that you made this post:https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1606432 Try to keep it to one post and I wouldn't have too much faith as to what the 92-00 civic forum thinks. Ken, you will probably get a laugh out of some of the responses.

The proper tire size depends on the kind of car you have, not just on the wheels. I'm guessing, based on your username, that you have a '92-95 Civic. If so, it came with 175/70-13 tires from the factory. The best tire size for 14" wheels, with an outer diameter matching your stock tires (so they don't throw off your speedometer or odometer or reduce your acceleration) is 185/60-14. In that size, the best summer tire available now is the Yokohama AVS ES100, which is $69/tire at the Tire Rack. If you have to use the same tires in snowy winter conditions as the rest of the year, though, then you should instead get an all-season tire; the best one available in 185/60-14 is the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position, also $69/tire at the Tire Rack.
The ES100 offers very good dry traction, excellent wet traction, and long treadlife. If you're willing to accept so-so wet traction and short treadlife in order to get outstanding dry traction, the Falken Azenis RT-615 will be available in the proper 185/60-14 size for your car beginning in September.

Re: (ht834)
I had 205 55s on my HXs. They looked nice and fat, but I don't recommend going that route. They were slightly larger diameter than stock and rubbed like hell. I was also dropped in the weeds. But that's something to consider. If you're dropped at all, go with something that will have the same or smaller overall diameter as stock to avoid rubbing issues.
Use a tire-size calculator like this one to figure out the diameter: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
