Default GSR Blades prep and painting help

i recently bought some GSR blades from a friend,the tires are shot and the chrome is peeling.
i have plans on painting them and want to know the correct prep for this.
im sure there is a thread all about this but i cant find it.

i found that yesterday,but doesnt chrome take a different process then just bare metal?

Factory GSR wheels are not chrome plated. They're machined and polished, then clear coated.

They're polished aluminum, not chrome

thanks for the tips,this find will make my project go a bit smoother since they're not chrome plated.

easy route is simply stripping the paint and sanding the wheels and priming them with self adhesive primer then coating them any color you want

thanks! ive already stripped the clear coat off of them,now i just need to start with the elbow grease and sand them.
