Today's car in question will be a 93 civic eg, and since I got the engine back in shape i'm going to be focusing on suspension etc. before giving it some power.

I'm getting the Koni/GC combo in either 450f / 400r or 400f / 350r, and dropping it to about .5-1 inch above rim. The problem I have is finding the right rim size/offset for a completely flush look while maintaining performance in corners and high speeds.

The rims will be Diamond Racing sc series in either 15x7 or 15x8 if possible, on Potenza re-11's. I would prefer going wide with almost no stretch, but if I can get away with a mini stretch without being in danger I wouldn't mind.

Keep in mind though I will be fully building this for a dd and it will more than likely see track time, with hp goals of around 300 on good boost; so being able to handle high torque and g-force is a must.

Also on a side note I wont mind rolling the fenders but I do not want to put camber on it.

**side side note - not the right place but im also contemplating what spring size from GC to get so I wont run into rubbing issues.


If anybody can chime in with helpful insight I would be more than greatful :D

Diamond Racing do not offer wheels with backspacing that will fit the car without requiring flares or stretched tires.

Even the 15x7? I'm now sticking to the 7 inch width because its not worth the hassle for an extra inch.. I was thinking a 29-32 offset, would that still be not enough backspace? Would spacers help fix this?

Like I said im fine with rolling but I wanna be as practical as possible for safety reasons.

I may also start a new thread in the right section for my suspension questions, but ive got it fairly narrowed down to a couple choices if you could offer some quick advice

The highest offset that they offer in a 15x7 is +0. As stated before, you're not going to find a DRW that fits your car without considerable modification.

What's the goal in mind here? Is it just a budget issue? Why the desire for DRW's?

Budget isn't an issue at all, I love the look of the all white DRW's much more than most aftermarket rims, including bbs's. Only 5 stars catch my interest otherwise, and even they have to be appropriate.

The fact that they are very inexpensive is just an added bonus lol

Yeah, you're not going to fit a 15x7 +0 on your car without heavy modification. A 15x7 -12 would stick out half an inch further, making it harder to fit them.

Yeah, i never said +0, well aware that wont fit as stock is 6 wide at like -42. I really dont see the same problem in 15x7's as you do.. many people run much bigger (16x9 and up) and yes i know heavy modifications are required there, but 1 inch bigger and a little less offset to bring it flush is totally do-able, and DRM has a specific honda page lol..

From D-series - "You should be able to get by with 15x7.5 with some minor fender rolling. The 15x7's may very well fit without any, or some VERY minor fender rolling."

He goes on to talk about the dangers of going above above 15's or 7.5 wide, and I agree, but I know this setup would work and well at that..

Your stock size is either 6" or 6.5" wide, with a +45 offset (not -42). There's a massive difference between positive 45 offset and negative 42 offset. You're not reading the offset correctly.

15x7 +0 will stick out from the car 2" more then a factory 15x6.5 +45. And, as you proceed further into the negative offsets, its only going to make the wheels stick out more.


15x7.5 +35's will fit great, but DRW doesn't offer anything with that high of an offset. Also, on DRW's site, you'll note that every Civic posted is on stretched tires with some negative camber and their fenders/quarter panels pulled.

Damn my bad, I was thinking offset started from 0 into the negatives lol.. well theres some of my issue haha.

With that out of the way I see what you're talking about now, and you're right that wont fit without camber/pull/roll- the works.

On a more reasonable note 15x6 0 offset should leave me about an inch over correct? If I roll the fender could I get the proper tire under there? Or would I have to get an even smaller tire and stretch it slightly; if any of this is even feasible.
