just by looking at the amount of rubber taken out for the circumfrential grooves i would have to think its not gonna be the same total dry grip as an Azenis but it looks like it would handle water a lot better

i was going to get these insted of Azines ST-215s but my friend had a set of azines localy so i got them insted. i'll get these next time

After driving these tires for about 50 miles, I have some initial observations. Going from stock Michelin Energy MXV4 195/60 R15 to the Hankooks, there is some more steering effort required, and some tracking of grooves in the street. They hum noticeably on concrete, but I heard on another forum that this should go away after 300 miles or so. They do seem to grip very well. They tend to pick up gravel and sand and throw it into my fenderwells. Going back to the Michelins I felt like I was in a luxury car compared to the Hankooks, road bumps were much smoother. I am not sure if this is because of the lower profile, or if the sidewalls are stiffer. I'll do another update later.

I ran the tires at our local event this last Sunday. I should have a better idea of how they work after another event or so. So far, I am running lower pressures than I did in the KD's, the grip was much better by my third run. the tires were at 160F after the last run and did not feel like they were giving up at all. I finished #1 overall for the event so they can't be that bad. The "Petal" shape of the tread blocks does not feather at all, it was really cool I thought....

I know of a couple autocrossers who did a comparison test of the 215s v. 615s v. 212's. the 615's were about 7 tenths faster than the 215s on a 60 second course, and much more tolerant to heat than the old 215's were. The Hankooks were faster than the 615's by another 2 tenths. Looks like the way to go.

This tire will probably be HT's new azenis. But better.
Resonably priced.

Comes in 215/45/16 and 205/50/15
ZR rated
Looks like it will do better in the rain. But the question is if it will do better in dry conditions.
And how long they will last.

*edit* Nevermind on the Hankook's, couldn't get them anywhere close to the timeframe that I need them in. Looks like I'm stuck with ES100's this time around
