Default fuzion zr1

hello, i have a 97 hatch that's getting dropped 2.5 inches this spring i have a chance to pick up a set of fuzion zri 205/55r15 tires, are they any good? traction? wear? etc...... i realize that 195/55 or 205/50 is ideal but these are dirt cheap, 80% tread left on them and only .5 of an inch taller then the stock 185/65r14
Ps tires are going on a set of konig rims

here's a pic of the tires i'm buying ***** and giggles

I have the ZRi's on my CL with a 1.5" drop and have nothing bad to say about them. I bought them new about 25k miles ago and they still have another 20k left in them. They're great in the rain, pretty quiet and grip is average for an all season radial. I rarely push this car since it's not worth pushing, so they work out great for me.

The Fuzion ZRi is an excellent "bang for the buck" longer-lasting summer tire.

The Fuzion ZRi is a summer tire, not an all-season tire. Fuzion makes an all-season called the HRi.

Remember, all-season tires are for those who need to use the same tires in winter conditions (snow and frigid cold) as they do in warmer temperatures the rest of the year. "All-season" does not refer to the ability to grip in rain; in moderate to warm temperatures, most summer tires grip better in rain than most all-season tires.

thanks for the reviews. anyone use these tires with some power behind them? i have a b16a2 swap with a s4c lsd tranny. i'm swapping in a b18b bottom end this spring and a possible turbo setup 8-10psi do you think these will hook up?

are these comparable to the Kumho Ecsta 711? for traction? and comfort?

Ps the tires are just going to sit in my shed until spring

thanks for you time.

For a high-power application, you're better off getting some of the best supersticky "extreme performance summer tires": Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, Bridgestone Potenza RE-11, Kumho Ecsta XS, Yokohama Advan Neova AD08, Toyo R1R. Downsides are that they're more expensive than the ZRi, and they won't last as long (typically 15-20K miles vs twice that for the ZRi), but they will give you the higher traction needed to handle the additional power in your setup.

The Star Spec and R1R are available in 195/55-15; the RE-11, XS, AD08, and R1R are available in 205/50-15.

Are you kidding? The Ecsta 711 is one of the very worst gripping summer tires on the market.

sweet, i liked the 711's but thats great to be getting a better tire. i bought them today. they were used one season, 100 bucks for all 4 no camber wear etc. all 4 are just like the pic. so that's why there going to sit in the shed. Thanks

The Fuzion ZRi is more of an entry-level summer tire. I think you're better off with something stickier, like the Dunlop Star Specs, the Bridgestone RE-11 or even the Kumho XS.

Yes, exactly. Above, I stated why:

Remember, you didn't go to all that time and expense to upgrade your power, only to get less sticky tires that can't transmit the upgraded power to the road.
