Roll Cage Pricing on the West Coast LA, Ca Area
Honda Tech I have been trying to get my EG caged out for Drag Racing. I'm on the West Coast and have been calling around getting prices together. There is one guy that I would really like to go to but he is quoting 6500 dollars for a 10 or 12 point chromyl cage. With this he will be throwing in Motor Mounts, Window Net, and Shute. This seems really high. The average I have been told is 2200 not including the actual Nindow net, Motor mount or Shute. All of this should be under a 1000. I'm not including any names because this is not intended to create any trash talk just want to get a good feel on what these type of cages should or have cost others. But please include your cage details and pricing & shop/fabricator.

If you want a quality cage, you have to pay. $2200 is low. $6500 is likely about right, maybe on the high side. I charge $2400 for a 4130 10.0@134.99 rollbar. That includes clean-up for welding, painting the bar, and me taking my time to do a nice job. Some guys think that is alot, and I agree it's not super cheap. If you want somebody to do a nice job, not in a hurry, with TIG, it will cost more than banging out MIG mild steel cages. Just getting the 4130 costs me twice as much as guys down south, so make sure you think about that.
If you knew what was charged for these crazy race car chassis jobs, you would understand.
What price would you put on your safety? Go see the guy that is $6500. If his work is top notch, and you have the money, I'd go there. If his work is mediocre, then he's charging to much and you can continue the search.

$6500 doesn't seem bad for a 12pt chromoly cage. Does that price include the actual window net and chute or just the mounting points? I'm gonna guess the guy isn't going to mig it if he's going to go all out like that
Who is the guy charging $6500? I'd ask around and see what his reputation is. Maybe he does very top notch work and is a stand up guy. Or maybe he's a scumbag who is just out for your money. You won't know unless you ask around

6500 for a chromoly roll cage? wow, that better include window net (100), parachute setup (800), and a nhra sticker(175).
i paid 900 for my chromoly roll cage.

L-Con whats 6500. Talked to Steen and he is asking 3500 for same thing but not providing the parachute or window net.

Talk to Danny at SSR in the east bay. His price is definately lower than what you have been quoted.

I pay 900 in chromoly tubing alone. I don't understand how anyone can make a 12 point for that little.
My 12 point FIA cages are around 5000-6000, and that's mild steel/DOM (chromo not allowed in FIA), all TIG, with windshield removal/install, gussets, paint and trim work ...
I have seen LCON cages and they definitely know what they're doing.

While it seems to be a smoking deal, not everybody is willing to work for $10/hr.
I never deal with interior anymore. I tell them bring it with a driver's seat.
I know a guy that does only cage and chassis stuff locally. He can bang off an 8.50 at under 150 cage in 10 hours in mild steel with MIG. He doesn't charge $900.

Decided to go with Steen Chassies. Gary is down to earth and will do what ever you ask and is half the price for the same thing and more. I will post pictures after its done.

the 900 did not include the actual chute and window net but did include the sticker. here are some pictures and the dash is still removable. guy does great work. does lots of stock/superstock chassis/headers.
stroud chute setup was another 300 and window net was another 30 for the actual products, material and labor was included.

god damn $6500 for a roll cage thats insane i think its time to pack up and mover the eastcoast. bamboo/precision fab just price quoted me $2050 for a 10 point, window net and chute mount. $6500 for a cage is alot of money. i know nobody wants to work for $10hr but im pretty sure your not getting a **** load of phone calls.
if i was a fabricator working in this god for saking long recession i would charge $2000 also. mainly because i can have several more customers than the guy charging $6500 for a cage
