Roll Cage Installation Price?
Hey guys... Just wondering what you all would think installation of this cage kit would run me? It's going into a 98 Civic Coupe.. here's a pic of the setup and a link to the details:

Re: (MidwestSiR)
It's not really a true 8 point cage. It's a six point with main hoop supports.
The fact that they don't ship any plates for the hoop supports is crap.
They also don't specify that it is DOM, although they say it meets nhra spec.
I would quote a customer 4-600(cdn) on the install seeing as how it's only mild steel, and MIG can be used on all the flat welds to speed it along.
A shop might charge 800+, you'll have to wait for one of them to give you an idea.

I'm sure that price is him providing everything and bending a cage to fit.
Just to weld in a premade one will be cheaper.

Re: (Evile140)
for an 8pt roll bar like pictured above we charge $1200 for cromoly, the plates are mig and all other joints are tig. The fit and quality will be well above beyond what those kits can offer, when it comes to those kits we wont even install them. Its not worth the time and headache of making them fit. When we do a simple job like this it is a 1 day affair, drop it off in the am and pick it up that night, or you can sit in the waiting room and play video games till she's done.

Wouldn't touch it. My experiance has always been that the customer ends up paying more after the cost of the kit, shipping and paying for installation (& Tweaking) than if I'd just built it from scratch.

I'd have to agree with that.

I typically try and steer customers away from "drop in" kits as they rarely do that. For a typical IT legal cage I charge in the neighborhood of 1500 for a full blown production, HC, GT, tub chassis I charge 2000 for the base cage and then add options on top of that.
