Default oil drain plug stripped..... what to do?

so i just got home in my new car and went to change the oil. and the drain plug is stripped so bad that i cant even tighten it with my hand before it breaks loose.

so should i take the pan off and have someone re-tap the hole? or should i try the thread chaser? its a moroso pan so i dont really want to buy another one i would like to fix the one that is on it now. any ideas or help is appreciated

Most parts stores sell an oversized drain plug, like a self tapping screw it cuts its own threads when you install it.
Doesn't cost much and more often than not will cure the problem,at least they have for me 5 or 6 times.

could be ghetto and just weld a nut outside of the drain hole and use a bolt to plug it

YOU CAN USE A PRESSURE CLAMP tighten it very good to the bolt thats stripped and turn it until it comes off and just buy a new plug
