Which MIG Welder?
Any of you guys willing offer (good) opinions on a decent MIG welder?
From my reading, I'm looking pretty hard at the Lincoln SP-175Plus http://www.mylincolnelectric.c...=7083
But after reading all the theads that came up on my SEARCH there seem to be a lot of guys doing good work with Miller and Lincoln 135 sized models... I really want the ability to weld down to 24 gauge steel without burning thru, and I'd like to be able to do up to .120 wall tubing without any trouble. I like the price of the 135s much better, but will I regret getting a 110/115v machine?

Re: Which MIG Welder? (thawley)
I almost bought a Lincoln 175, INfact I bought it and cancelled the order the moment before it went on the truck. Why ? I found what I believe to be an equal or maybe better welder for less money!
I LOVE my clarke welder. Its 180amps 22ov . It doesnt burn thru a redbull can but it it can also weld a 1/2 plate with no signs of stressing. I believe my welds to be quite good with the unit.
My logic said that I would rather overbuy a machine that buy less machine than was needed to get the job done in every case I could forsee. There is NOTHINg worse than buying 1 tool twice.. I know.. This is my 2nd welder. The first sits on the shelf. What really irritates me is not being able to do a job when you think you have the equipment!
Buy once, buy quality, and keep yourself happy!
