Default I'm curious....

I was thinking just a min ago what would happen if you tried welding with flux core wire and gas on a mig machine?

That's called dual shield. The wire for dual shield is not exactly a flux core wire, but it's very similar. You get a deeper/better penetration and cleaner looking welds compared to both flux core or MIG.

so wait....there's not only flux core wire as well as regular wire, but now a dual shield wire?
