Default Hybrid Tig welder - Using AC/DC stick welder - Advise plz.

I just bought Hobart AC/DC stick welder for dirt cheap http://www.hobartwelders.com/p....html . I want to convert it to a Tig, but not sure if hybrid Tig welder is worth it? I just need flowmeter, tig torch, gas, and tig accessories so it'll be cheaper than buying a Miller Econotig. Only thing is I won't have a foot pedal. I'm rather new to Tig welding so I'm not sure which way is better for me, I prefer upgrading since its much cheaper.
I'll be doing aluminum piping for intercoolers, exhaust piping, etc, mostly car stuff.

I just picked up an old Miller AC/DC stick/TIG welder. The only thing that makes it a TIG is that it has a high frequency carrier that helps strike an arc, otherwise it is just a stick welder. I've used it for only a couple minutes, and the high frequency mode definitely makes it easier to strike an arc, but it's not impossible without it.

If I hadn't picked this up for $100, I would have gone with a stick, since I already had a cheap TIG torch and gas regulator from my MIG. Keep in mind, though, this is a possibly 30y/o welder, so the newer ones have bells and whistles, but plenty of nice things were made with these, back in the day

So do you think I can weld as good as Tig with the hybrid?
