how to convert 220v to 460v single phase? transformer?
how would i get 220v to 460v single phase? i have heard of using a transformer? i can buy a miller econotig for a pretty sweet price but its the 460v model so i would need to stepup my current 220v outlet somehow. thanks for all advice!

Yes it's possible using a transformer, but because you asked the question... yes, call an electrician.
BTW the transformer will likely cost $300-$600 + install.
Probably best to just pay the money and get the 240V version. Or, call Miller and see if the 460V model can be jumpered down to 240. Probably.
