98 EK Civic CX hatchback bone stock 86k original miles 2nd owner
SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys, I'm selling my 98 Civic CX hatchback. It's as rare as its going to get. I want to start with the history I had with this car. I purchased this car from the original owner back in October 2009 when I was living in New York. The car had on 63k miles. I made the move to California with this car in Jan 2010. And yes, I drove 3000 miles across country with the Civic in less than 3 days. The car gave me zero problems on my drive to LA. Its been my daily driver and has been great to me. Only reason I'm selling it is because I just picked up a GS-R that I couldn't refuse.
So here's some info about the car:
Its a 98 CX model in Dark Amethyst Pearl (color code PB-74P) with grey interior, 5 spd manual.
Standard no power steering so handling is nice and tight.
Ice cold AC, great exterior condition and mint interior with no rips. The paint is very shiny and clean. Just has a few dings here and there due to idi0ts that don't know how to open their doors in a parking lot.
Currently has 86,5xx miles. The vehicle is bone stock with the exception of a JVC CD/MP3 AUX player and B&M short shifter. Car will come with GS-R wheels w/ Kumho tires w/ 80% tread.
Also installed a Civic EX armrest
At around 70k I did the following tune up:
-Denso OEM spark plugs and wires
-Honda OEM fuel filter, air filter, distributor cap, rotor, PCV valve
At around 80k:
-Replaced right front wheel bearing, cv boot and left rear hub bearing
I kept this car as best condition and stock as I can. I've done all preventative maintenances to make sure it never breaks down on me in the middle of nowhere since its my daily commuter. And I religiously wash the car every week. If you're looking for a great condition EK hatchback, stock, well maintained and low miles than this is it.
Please take a look at the pics and see for yourself. I've taken plenty of pics included all original panels with the VIN still on it. I even have the original Owners Manual and OEM Touch Up Paint.
****The car will not include the roof racks and the Si wheels as shown in pics. I'm swapping them out for my GS-R so buyer will have GS-R wheels instead. Still all good, you get alloys instead of hub caps. I'll be doing the swap tomorrow so I'll update with pics.
So....where there's a good there's bad (kinda). Recently the check engine light came on so I scanned it and got a fault code P0135 Oxygen Sensor Bank 1. Before replacing the O2 sensor I remove the heatshield and what do you know? I got the infamous exhaust manifold hairline crack right on top of the O2 sensor. There's a good chance that the crack may have triggered the Check Engine light. So my plan was to just pick up some performance headers (ebay, obx, DC, anything) and extend the O2 sensor on bank 2. Thats where I wanted to start off with so at least I can get better gas mileage and fix the air leak. If I still have the fault for the O2 sensor than I can just pick up a Denso OEM one for no more than $40 (part# 234-4099). That should fix the problem right there.
I'm asking $4000. Sorry I will not accept offers of $3500 or less. I will consider anything above. But first person who comes through with $4000 cash, I'll hand over the car, keys and title. I'm located in Pasadena area so shoot me a PM or email at kq818@hotmail.com if you're interested in the car. Thanks
