Transmission 2001 accord Cpe 4 cylinder
Transmission shifts hard 1st to 2nd. I know there are a lot of trans problems but this problem has not changed in 3 years. It's the same every time no matter hot or cold.
Could this be only a bad C shift solenoid. The C shift solenoid I believe controls the trans from 1st to 2nd.
Could this be something not requiring to rebuild the trans.
Has anyone changed the shift solenoids to see if it fixed the problem.
I know a trans shop would probably only want to rebuild trans etc...
Thanks

A shift solenoid simply diverts fluid to a gear, it has zero impact other than its opening and closing on the change of gears. Here are a few culprits:
1: Excessive line pressure (TV cable misadjusted)
2. Excessive fluid friction.
3. 1st refuses to release when 2nd is engaged (fluid restriction internal)
4. Faulty (stuck) 2nd accumulator.
Engine mounts and axles could also play a role.
You are likely exhibiting symptoms that I cannot determine at this time that would lead to a more solid answer.
