Default Subframe Markings

Hey guys, I'm planning to change my clutch for the first time and have been doing a ton of research. The one thing that still has me in questions is marking the subframe. I'm not exactly sure what is meant by that. Do I have mark specific bolts so I put it back where it came from? I read that if I mess up the alignment will be off. So can't I just torque the bolts to spec then just get an wheel alignment? I appreciate the help! And please don't tell me to just take it to a shop. I think of it as a learning process and would much rather mess up and learn than to not ever know how to replace a clutch.

Dropping the subframe requires an alignment afterwards. If you're capable of that then there's nothing else to it. I do transmissions here at work all the time where the subframe is dropped. Just put it back, torque the bolts, align the car.

Agreed. I would be inclined to mark it anyway, in order to minimize the amount of shifting that does occur.
