Speed gear chipped
Hi,
I chipped the speed gear ring on the diff removing it with the 3 arm puller. I figured I would install it on the new LSD and see what would happen. I put the LSD in the case and rotated it with the VSS in it while still open(no main or counter shafts installed and it makes a fairly loud grinding noise. So I'm left with a couple of questions.
1. Can I file down the chip?
2. Will having oil in the trans quiet down the vss contact to the speed ring?
3. If those are not options, how would I better ensure the next ring won't get damaged. I was fairly careful.
Thanks
