Default ITR vs. GSR clutch?

What is the difference between an ITR and GSR clutch set? Does the ITR pressure plate have a higher clamp load? Will an ITR clutch kit bolt up to a 97 GSR block? Difference in disc material?

If they are the same, why do auto retail parts stores have different clutch kits for the GSR and ITR?

Yes there is a difference. ITR has more clamping force. I can't remember what it is though. YES ITR kit will bolt up to a GSR. Replaced my friends 97 GSR clutch and flywheel with ITR parts.

clutch discs are the same, pressure plates are different. All fit the same in any combination. I assume the clamping force is higher on the type r.
