Icon6 Experiences before/after clutch hydraulic line replacement?

Hello I had a small leak on the hose going from the reservoir to the master cylinder, so even know the car was running fine I chose to replace it.

After replacing the hose soon after the slave cylinder only disengages the clutch half way. I noticed after bleeding it and leaving it sit that it's losing fluid in between the master and the slave.

I couldn't however determine exactly where. I heard some people run the fresh straight braided hose with fittings directly from the master to the slave.

How did that work out for you and in steps how did you bleed the clutch after replacing the line?

Thank you so much guys have a great day!

You just get fittings to fit the master cylinder and slave. Then run a braided line to the slave. If no leaks are apparent in the line it's either gonna be your master or slave.

1995 Ford Escorts are prone to this type of problem, is this what you are driving?

I replaced the line with no leaks and a brand new master and slave. Flushed all the fluid out and used fresh Synthetic brake fluid.

Reservoir is getting dark again and the "new" master leaks at the pedal floor/board.

It seems they all leak because I replaced them both about 6 times in 2 years and they always leak. I used honda bond on the slave around the boot and that fixed the leaky boot by stock so the slave is fine.

It's the master I believe is causing the issue where the fluid darkens and I slowly lose pedal/ feel over time.

Do honda OEM Master Cylinders leak too? It's at the boot where the shaft moves back and fourth. It wears at that point so all that would be needed is a nylon seal that allows the shaft to move back and fourth without wearing and ripping the boot causing leaking.

Thanks

Thanks

Only quality mc's don't leak. I tried autozone twice and oreilly once before and autozone had a badly stripped sealing bolt the first time which was spraying fluid out, the second was leaking at the pushrod, and oreilly had a leaking push rod as well.

I next tried Exedy and have been perfect for about 30k now. Im sure other top name aftermarkets will not leak but i suggest going Exedy.
