Default B16 LSD Trans making Noise

i have an 89 dx with a b20 and b16 lsd transmission, i did the swap about 7 years ago but the car hasn't been driven much AT ALL in the past 2 years. but when ever im just coasting with a steady peddle pressure or on the gas, i hear a whining noise from the transmission. like i said i haven't drove the car much till here recently and i cant remember if it was a noise that it had always made. everything works fine shifting and there are no grinds.

Did you change the trans fluid after it sat for 2 years?

It's probably something you just didn't notice before. You should def check the fluid level/condition before driving it again though.

Normal. A bad input shaft bearing would require pulling the trans and splitting it open to replace. A bad ISB can be heard with engine at idle, trans in neutral, clutch out. When you push the clutch down and hold it there, it should be quiet until you let out on the clutch again.

If its only when driving its more likely a wheel bearing.

I can't really hear anything but some static and the exhaust, no seriously.

I can slightly hear something near the end of the video but its hard to make out because its drowned out, you have other issues as your engine temp is still near the C on the gauge, after all that driving I would expect it to be near the middle but damn...

i hear it most around the 30 second and 1 minute mark. as for my temp, i live 5 minutes from work and if i dont let it sit in the driveway for a few minutes it wont heat up and we have been having some pretty cold mornings here in north georgia.

but last night i changed the tranny fluid just to freshen it up and the noise is a little bit less.
