Help my EF9 wont run
Car is EF9 with B18CR running on OBD0 with standard ecu with a chip.
At first got the check light, 68 which I had been lead to believe was distributor. I got the occasional solid light as well when starting, I remedied this by turning the key off and starting again.
Pulled the dizzy off and had it tested, couldn't find fault on the bench. While driving my car down to the workshop the light came on and went into limp. Then ran on 1.5 cylinders.
Put another dizzy on today, managed to get it running for a few mins then as soon as I turned it off would not start.
After unpluging the ecu I am now getting code 16 which is injector or fuel? We poured petrol in manually and it started for a few seconds.
Has anybody had this problem before and how do I solve it?
Another possibility I am going to look into is that I have bought a second distributor with a similar issue. However with it testing fine on the bench and no car to run it in I am running out of ideas.
Any advice or suggestions are very much welcome!
p.s yes I am using the search function too
Edit: I am going to try plugging another ecu in today to see if it throws the same fault

Re: Help my EF9 wont run
After plugging in the other ecu he fired up first go, no new check lights.
I had a chip in my ecu with my tune, will I be likely to damage anything if I swapped it into my new ecu?

Re: Help my EF9 wont run
With the new ecu i was able to drive him home (bout 10-15kms). As soon as I was coming down my driveway I got a new code 20 which is Electrical load detector. I havn't tried to start the car since.
I replaced the alternator on the 22nd of August with a second hand one
Could be earths. Could be main relay..
Was also suggested to check the fuse

Re: Help my EF9 wont run
I would say double check all of your grounds, make sure they are nice, clean, and secure. After that, double check all your wiring connections and make sure they are good. Sounds more like a wiring issue than a single part problem.
