Will my car still run if i bent my valves
i had timing belt walk and i fixed everything like new and started it up, the stock cam gears were a few teeth advanced from my screw up but i thought it would still run, when i started it up the idle was very erratic and VERY rough. I was j/w if my car would be able to idle and rev up and stuff if i bent any valves

if the valves are not bent that much, then it can still run with most likely not much problems.
If it has bent significantly, it wont run right and can possible break off if it hits the piston and drop the valve. Destroying your head, block. Pretty much the whole engine.

I bent my exhaust valves by like 1/2 a finger nail thickness . and the car wouldn't even idle or start at all. So who knows. That is just my experience.

Do a leakdown test. If it's in the red zone and you keep running it, just plan on getting a nice bike to peddal around. Also, do your timing belt again. A few teeth off (I'm assuming less than 3 teeth) will make your car run like **** also. Good luck!

I bent all 16 of my valves just slightly from a timing belt slip, and I drove it for a week or so with little consequence. It just depends on how much they're bent...

No matter how much they are bent, if you keep driving it the bent valves are going to start to wear their own seat.. I did this on my prelude and had to have the valve seats reworked..

I would still do a compression and leakdown test to make sure you didnt bend any valves by having the timing off..
Was you timing a few teeth advanced or retarded?
