where to adjust tps

Re: where to adjust tps (Mr. S)
once you can loosen the fasteners, rotate it to set it between 700-900kohms...middle pin is positive and the left pin(when looking from the top) is negative(ground).

Though that suggestion may end up putting you where you need to be, instead, do this:
After having slotted and backed off the screws that are holding it on, turn it [TPS] and measure the VOLTAGE of the middle pin...your aiming for .45 +/- .05V. Reset the ECU after this has been done.
You will have to have the ignition on in order for the ECU to supply the TPS with +5v to initially get your measurement.

Re: where to adjust tps (EE_Chris)
The above method of setting the ohms, is the way to adust the tps in static position(with ignition off) and can be done on or off the car. I try to set it at 800k ohms...and they work properly.

Re: where to adjust tps (NightHawkC5)
I'm trying to figure this out. I'm not too good with electronics. I have a multimeter like this below with a red wire and a black wire. Can someone draw on the picture and show me where the red and black wires would plug into the multimeter, and where to set the main dial? And is this the right procedure:
- turn ignition on, but car off
- put black wire from multimeter to battery ground
- tap red wire from multimeter to middle wire of tps, with tps plugged in to throttle body.
- loosen tps a bit and turn until I get 0.45 - 0.5 reading on meter with tb closed.
- should I check reading at wot and make sure it is 4.5?
Thanks for all the help!

if you have a VAFC it will show the TPS voltage using the sensor check function.
Set it to 0.45v or a tad higher like 0.455 or 0.46..don't go lowe or higher than that or you'll have issues.

Re: (visi0n)
Ok, but on the multimeter, I plug the red wire to the "20A" terminal on the bottom left, and the black wire I plug to the "V/ohm/f" on the bottom right? Then I turn the dial to the V with the 2 lines beside it for DC right?

Re: where to adjust tps (SixPAK)
Plug the black lead into the "COM" hole.
Plug the red lead into the V/ohm/f hole.
Notice the black "V" scale with a solid bar and 3 little bars underneath...this is the DC, or direct current, scale. Put the dial to "20" here.
Your other directions about probe placement are spot on.
