Default What in the world is wrong with my clutch?

When I'm first starting my car in the morning, or after I've had the clutch clamp hard (like taking off quickly amd going up through the gears), when I push the clutch in, it will fall to the floor and not come back up. When this happens, the engagement point is like, 1" from the floor. It still grips fine, but unless it's warmed up, or I pump the clutch a few times after shifting hard, it's unresponsive. Could this be the master/slave cylinder going, or could I just have bubbles in the line? Thanks in advance.

You may have air in the lines. Have you checked your clutch slave and master cylinders for leaks?

bleed your system if it keeps going check for fluid leakage.

keep us posted if u ever found out what the problem is; my pedal needs pumping too to get into gears sometimes. I bled my slave about ten times already-no air. I changed out the slave-nothing. And my master cylinder has no leaks-hopeless. Let me know wussup with yours if u ever get it fixed.

check the slave cylinder, its more than likely the problem. if that does work, bleed the system and get some new fluid. but more than likely the slave cylinder bolt is loose or air is in the system

3rdgteg - sounds like a bad slave cyl or master cyl.

gsrguy 17 - you need to bleed the clutch line. (like everyone else has said)

KAMiN, I changed out the slave cyl already--nothing.
My master cyl. has no leaks anywhere and fluid in the reservoir is still full, can it still be the master cyl.??
