Default What is the absolute best penetrating oil?

I need to soak some heat cycled bolts in my T3 exhause side. I figure that I'm gonna break them but I need to try. Oil + Heat = maybe they will come apart......what oil should I use?

PB blaster...spray on and leave for 1/2 hour...then tap the bolt/nut with a wrench and spray some more...then come back and try to muscle it off. -andie

PB Blaster as cobalt mentioned. The member Big Moose has a homemade recipe that he swears by. Maybe he will say something.

Edit- I found the mix. 9 parts acetone/ 1 part lard mixed together. Pour liberally over the bolt in question. Extremely Flammable engine must be completly cool, no heat sources around.

interesting mixture...i'd be careful not to flick that stuff only any painted surface...something tells me that it will cloud paint on contact... -andie

Jim,

You beat me to the forum with my Dad's miracle knock-er-loose recipe! Congrats.

Now you guys that get really stuck and use the 9 parts acetone, 1 part virgin lard mix and it saves your behind, be sure to post the results....If we get enough testamonials perhaps we (Forum Members) could start a little Honda-Tech mail order business with the profits going to the guys who own Honda-Tech...... ..aw, they're probably rich, and I forgot we already let out our "trade secret" recipe.

It probably would not be the best on any painted surface. If you can't get virgin lard and acetone, PB Blaster and Kroil are good commercial penetrants.

Like Jim said, this stuff is flammable......it 'taint no "safety" approved penetrant.

Regards,
BigMoose
