vtec head choice for crvtec
Was just wondering whether to run a b16, a b18c, or a b18c jdm type r head, with my b20b block. I will be boosting the motor appx 8psi, and running 10.5:1 pistons. Im thinking the type r head would be a waste because the bottom end wont be able to rev up to that high red line anyways!

I have a personal liking to the GSR head, but type-r is better out of the box. It wouldnt make much of a difference anyway.
I wouldnt boost a b20 block without sleeves though. If you dont know why, search for it....you'll see.

Re: vtec head choice for crvtec (notstock93)
I was definitely going to sleeve it that wasnt even a question just forgot to mention it. Whoops!!! I got a some friends who get a crazy hook up through AEBS so im probably going to be going with their t sleeves.
And dually noted, from my research GSR seems to be the most cost effective for the power. But just trying to get some input from those who have run a b20 vtec before

actually the GSR head is not the most cost effective.........they seem to be priced higher than the B16 vtec heads.
they both perform well so either one you choose will be a good choice.

Re: vtec head choice for crvtec (LSVT3K 91 C1V1C)
thanks lsvt3k I completely forgot about the higher compression with throwing a GSR head on their, im already going to be running 10.5: pistons, so compression doesnt need to be any higher for a turbo set up.

I figured he was going to run a b20 piston.
They are right, I like the gsr head for its intake mani and slightly more agressive cams than the B16, but it would raise compression even more.
sleeved 2.0L turbo motor = who gives a rats *** about eeking out another 5whp from differenct heads. Just get the Pr3 for cheap and your good.
