VAFC on a v6 accord cant rev past 4000 rpm
I have a friend who got a VAFC installed on his 99 V6 accord. It's all hooked up right, but for some reason, the motor wont rev past 4000 rpm. It'll cut out like its cold. I dont know, just thought i'd throw it out there. thanks!

Double check the way it's hooked up. Just like another post in thisforum they are having problems. Make sure you are using the US spec ECU diagrams. There should have been a supplemental sheet with your unit. If you don't have it then check APEXi's website under the Documentation section. Also check the Q&A section on their website. VAFCs can't be used on certain model Accords. I know for a fact that they can't be used on 4 cylinder models.

Re: VAFC on a v6 accord cant rev past 4000 rpm (95vtecaccord)
When I read the f&q on their site the 4cylinder Accords use a different method to engage vtec say compared to a b block. Because of this the VAFC won't work. Before reading this, I installed one on a '95 4 cylinder Accord (sometime in May) and when his vtec would engage the car stuttered and ran like ****, not to mention the check engine light popped on. I took out the VAFC and installed an SAFC, same problem. I haven't had any problems with Prelude though, so makesme wonder if it is just an F-block problem. If so then it might function fine if your car has an H22 swap. Just some food for thought.
