Tranny Problem.
Hello everyone,
When i shift from 2nd gear to 3rd gear, SOMETIMES at LOW RPM, the gears grate.
Now MOST of the time, at high rpm, gears grate shifting from 2nd to 3rd.
It also happens when i run the rpm to 8500 in 3rd --> 4th.
What are some of the possibilities, Could one bad tranny mount cause this problem.
Is it the Syncros?
Is It the Clutch Release System [bearings, clutch, slave/master cylinder]
Input Shaft Bearing?
Thank You Very much.

Now that sounds like a throwout bearing! But your syncros are worn out as well.

Go Tigers!
1. change trans fluid.
2. check motor mounts
3. check linkage bushings
4. rebuild trans
If one step doesn't fix it, move to the next step until it does.

Re: (Bense)
I would start by checking the trans fluid level. It could be low & could have caused damage to the trans. I have had a trans make noise & when you push the clutch in it goes away. It was a cracked primary shaft bearing, so if your fluid is low your primary shaft bearings will be the first to go.
