Smoke coming from dipstick!!

Default Smoke coming from dipstick!!

okay, i tried starting my newly built motor today again, and i totally forgot to put the dipstick back in after checking my oil. i went to start it up and all of the sudden i see smoke just gushing out of that little hole where the dipstick was suppose to be. the car didn't start and i don't know what's wrong?!? anyone ever have this problem?

got oil in the pan? i know a kid who forgot to replace the oil cap on the block itself and oil and sputtered out all over his engine bay. make sure you got some oil in there.

If smoke is coming out of the oil dipstick hole, it usually means one of two things.

1. the compression rings are toast and you are getting bad blow by

2. your motor is blown

Do a compression test.

that's what i thought as well! damn...i'm using sorry *** total seal rings too. anyway, if i have low compression or blow by with these rings, does that or will that cause my motor to not start?

Possibly.. if there is little or no compression.. no motor will run.

yes it's brand new(basically). i just finished it on friday and started it up on saturday. it only ran for 2 sec. then died and i haven't been able to revive it yet. i'm gonna to a compression test tonight and see if that's the problem.
