Default Replacement water pump has more teeth?!

I have an OBD1 GSR motor, and I am doing the timing belt and water pump. My old water pump has 19 teeth (LS motor?), and the new one has 22 teeth (vtec).

I have a GSR belt, GSR motor, GSR pump. I'll be fine, right, haha.

so what happened, someone replaced the belt and pump one time with an LS ???

I don't think the belt would get tight if you used an LS pump on a GSR.

Searching leads me to agree with you, must have been an LS belt to. Who the **** would do that, and what has this motor been through

Well, I got the P72 pump and belt on there, and it seems snug, so I'm happy.

you can use either an ls belt or a gsr belt, or hell...as long as the water pump and belt are from the same motor it will work.
