T1 cam trigger, AEM, COP?
Ok guys, I've been searching and reading all day and can't seem to come up with an answer to this specific question.
Is it possible to run a COP setup with RSX coils, a T1 cam trigger kit, and an AEM 10-1050 box, with no amplifier, and the stock distributor completely removed?
From what I understand the RSX coils are a 3 wire coil setup with a built in amplifier already so it doesn't need another external amplifier. Is this correct?

I already have the AEM and the cam trigger kit on my car. Just looking for ways to get rid of the distributor. And a set of RSX coils are easy to come by and not that expensive.

Is this a turbo car? Its a good question you are asking as Im not really sure myself. If you are looking to get rid of the distributor because of the ignitor... you could run an ignitor bypass circuit and a mallory box... Thats what I have and I think its a cost effective ignition system

you dont want to use M&W or AEM twin fire?
i thought only series 2 ems have the coil drivers that you can wire a smart coil directly

Ok so my box does have 4 ignition channels just checked with AEM. So has anyone tried these coils with the epm? If so how did you wire them?

the k coils have built in igniters so no need for a twin fire or m&w. If you were running a cbr or pencil coil then you would need the twin fire or m&w as they act as the igniter. What i recomment is the t1 trigger and the k coils if you dont wanna spend the extra money on a m&w. Highly recommend staying away from the epm or even twin fire seen them do way to much goofy stuff which isnt worth risking a motor over.

Thanks for the help. I finally found a good rsx coil circuit diagram so I have them some what figured out as to how to wire them. I'll let you guys know how it works and possibly do a write up on it so it's here for anyone else looking.

Re: T1 cam trigger, AEM, COP?
Ok so I have this setup put together but having a problem I was wondering before hand if it would arise. When I crank over the engine while watching aempro I see that the injectors are not firing at all.
First I tried setting up the aem using the method outlined on the aem site http://forum.aempower.com/forum/inde...c,23519.0.html
I set my cam/crank sensor in the wizard as an epm. Tried it and no injector pulse.
Then I tried it with the original t1 cam trigger setup for the cam/crank wizards, etc and still the same thing.
Now that the distrubitor is gone is there something missing that I should be setting up to tell the injectors when to fire?? I'm assuming there must be a way I can set this up off the cam trigger? Any and all help is very much appreciated.

Those instructions state to turn off your injectors and sync the ignition. Did you sync the ignition? If you did and you followed the instructions....Did you turn your injectors back on?

Yes, and yes, I got it all figured out, called AEM and come to find out there were some other jumpers that had to be moved for this application where their application they have on their site didn't need to be moved. I am going to do a write up on it for anyone looking to do this in the future.
