New O2 w/ reset, still getting CEL
my EG D16 had a CEL, so I checked the code and it was code 1. So I bought a new Denso O2 sensor, replaced the O2 and reset the ECU. Drove it for a while and the CEL came on again, with the same code. Why would that happen?

check the wiring by the ecu. look at pin D14 on the ecu (white wire) and see if its in the ecu harness. if it is, trace the wire to check to see if its cut somewhere. check also in the engine by the O2 plug on the harness side. make sure the wire is not broke anywhere. code 1 usually means that the ecu is not get n any signal from the O2 sensor
also u sure its not code 10?

Re: New O2 w/ reset, still getting CEL (boosted k20)
Here's the goofy thing though. When I unplug the O2 it gives me the CEL right aways, when it's plugged in, the CEL only comes on after driving for a while. So it would seem to me as if there is some sort of communication happening, but then it stops for some reason. I also checked the wiring and I can't seem to find any breaks anywere.

Thanks, that really helped, went and looked at the ECU and found the white wire cut, with the other part kinda dangling there. So the previous owner must have had a wideband O2 in there. Works perfectly now.
