I don't think it's most powerful, but
Legend V6 (240HP) Coupe w/ 6-speed can do mid 14sec 1/4mi.
And, it's a damn nice car that I wouldn't mind owning.

All good responses...caught me off guard, but I meant 4 cyl. From the "Import Scene", whatever that means.

Bingo! One of the ECHC guys, Todd Reid is VERY competitive in H1 with a 5th Gen Civic HB and LS engine buildup. H-T name is Todd Reid, give him a holler, I'm sure he'd back you on an LS venture.
Jason-
who was OWNED by Todd on the Sunday start...

actually, I think you can make a monster out of CVCC by slapping on some weber carb and etc. Jackson Racing from back in the day early 80's fugged around w/ CVCC... power-to-weight ratio should be very good for those cars.

Re: Most powerful non-Vtec honda? (teg92)
yup, NA i assume (except for maybe that d15?)
anyways i think that f1 uses n/a 3.5L v8's and cart/irl use 2.8L V8's with forced induction?
i could be wrong tho, but there was just a large article about this in car and driver maybe 5 months ago!
anyone have that pic of the engine? it looks SHAWWEEET!

F1= V10 or V12 UNDER 3 liters, that's the rule, and it is said that they are close (if not IN) the 1000HP
and Indy i think is higher cuz they have a greater displacement (don't remember exactly how much) and i don't remember the number of pistons, but is either V-8, V-10, or V-12
don't get much info cuz you'll cry too much, believe me

Re: Most powerful non-Vtec honda? (teg92)
yeah! i would like to know how does the valves work, because i heard they are hydraulics, sounds weird, but what really puzzles me about the valves is how can they rev to 18,000 RPM with them

H23
160hp at 5800 rpm
155tq at 5300 rpm
If there was actually an aftermarket for this engine it would kickass....but for all you kids looking at a swap you'll take H22 everyday....but it's a great engine with lots of torque for a honda

Titanium and Unobtainium  valvetrain helps, along with the most advanced engineered stuff that doesn't fly! They have pneumatic system for valve closure.

Actually the Honda F1 cars of the 80s were V8s...Turbo V8s that is
I believe most of the top teams use a pnuematic(sp?) valvetrain to help achieve 18,000+ rpms. I dont think any of the current teams make more than 900hp but then again who really knows for sure. CARTs use 2.65l Turbo V8, they make about the same power as the F1 cars, but they are a little slower due to more weight.
