I got a tech question if anyone can help. I have an ls b18a block I'm rebuilding. I don't have cash to piece up a new water pump for it but I have a water pump off my SiR block. The difference I notice is that the pulley on the SiR is slightly larger than the stock ls. I know that the cams spin at 1/2 the crank,so will the different size water pump have an affect on my engine performance? Can i use the SiR water pump or will over time it have an affect on performance? Any advice is helpful.

you can use that water pump, but you'll have to use a gsr/itr belt.

What about tensioner pulleys and cam gears? Keeping those stock from ls would be fine? I
l'll go ahead and use that belt,but do you mind telling me why I would need to use that belt over the stock ls belt? Just wanna learn for my own good.

im not so sure about tht man,i would triple check and dnt go on just advise,i learned not to go cheap the hard way...no offense kyden but im sure ud do the same

yea. I guess I'll just wait and piece up on a new pump. no point putting a used one on anyway when I'll have to pull the engine out again and do another rebuild. Thanks.
