Intermittent starting
Hello everyone, new to these forums. I have owned my 97 (automatic) prelude for a few years now. I'm currently experiencing intermittent starting issues. When I turn the key in the ignition, all "normal" lights come on in dash, but car won't start. I hear a clicking noise come from what sounds like the neutral safety switch, and main relay, but nothing else happens. I just replaced the car battery and have checked since so I know it's good. I pulled the starter apart looks good as well, I've also replaced starter solenoid due to an issue with that about 6 months ago. I have experienced this problem in both hot and cold conditions, and I can came back later and it starts fine...does his sound like a shorted/ground wire or possibly main relay? I haven't heck fuel pump mainly because I don't know how, but I haven't noticed an issue with rough idling. Any help is much appreciated!

Re: Intermittent starting
sorry bout taking so long to repost, but I figured it out. even though the started looked fine I took it out and got it tested and it failed, so I replaced it and it seems to be working good now for the last 4ish months

Re: Intermittent starting
normally the issue is just the starter contacts and you can find these online for like $15 ...unless the starter doesn't stop engaging or something like that, then you need another starter
