Help wiring a b16a alternator up (custom)
i have a full b16a turbo witch i fully rewired and tucked.
it a 89 da6 b16a turbo
im having problems getting the alternator to work.
ive changed out 3 alternators. still no go.
ive followed the manual instructions on how to check it. but still no go. http://www.nzhondas.com/manuals/integra/da6/23.pdf
(Page 90 to 100)
i have a 12v feed from the main big white wire.
When I pull the p4 connector and turn the car on
(The one with 3 small wires in the back of the alternator)
The charge light goes away.
This means the white/blue wire is ok in the p4 connector.
I also have a 12v feed from the black/yellow wire. Witch mean it is hooked up right.
my white blue and blk yellow both have a connection from the p4 conector to the 24 fuse in the fuse box.
when i hook ohms on my mulitymeter from the p4 to fuse 24 the ristance is right up the slowly falls and stops after 30 sec.
the blue wire is no longer used as i have an aftermarkit ecu.
circut dirgram
so ive just about to purchase a brand new alternator.
i will take it and get it tested to see if it works befor i have a crack at it.
now what i want to do it wire it sepertly from the cars wiring.
i want to know how to make it charge if i was to use it with out the std loom.
im not 100% sure if this is right but the ristance in the dash light turns the alternator on.
if any one know how to wire a honda alternator up with out the stock loom can u please let me know. im despriate to get this thing working.
some one who one a custome drag car.
what i think i need to do.
Big whit wire to battery.
blk/yellow to 12v power ingition
hook white blue off blk/yellow with light
any one have any ideas

You have to use the blue wire. Its what controls how much the alternator puts out. if you groung it completely the alternator will go into full charge. You need to get some resistors with different resistance and put them betoween the wire and a ground, you just have to play with them untill you get the desired output from the alt

Re: (RHD_BB4T)
very intresting you say that.
my tuner cut the blue wire and didnt do anything with it unless it was grounded some where and ive cut that wire or taken it out.
i checked the blue wire and it was cut by the ecu??
are u talking about the blue wire not the white blue
