hey wussup. i have a 1999 Civic SI with a JDM ITR swap. i want to kno how can i get it to pass inspection. any advice would b very helpful. thanks.

SEARCH. This has been covered before


In california in general:

You need to add any smog devices that is not present on the JDM motor that are on the USDM motor Also the motor must be newer or the same year as the chassis it's going into

You will need to have it ref'ed and pass a dyno smog

use the Search button for the specifics


Updated: I just noticed that you are in NY... you may not have as stict as a requirement.

yea i kno im sorry. i woulda but i just posted this @ work and didnt have the time to search. i just wanet to see what anybody had to say about it but its ok. ill search. thanks. oh n its for NY inspection. i feel bad for Cali tho they get there ***** broken with that. but thnks again

Well to pass ny state inspection you will have to pas the obd2 dtc check. you cannot use a chipped ecu p28, p06 etc, has to be a ob2 ecu. im pretty sure but if im wrong somone correct me, i believe a usdm type r ecu is a p73. thats what u will need to pass, with the b18c. also u will need to get a obd2 oil pump with the crank sensor. the jdm oil pump wont have this sensor which the p7e will be looking for. hopw this helps a bit.

thanks !!!!! thats what i was looking for and it did help. thank you. if anybody else has more info jus please help me out. but thanks again -Turbo B18C EJ6-. yea i have the stock jdm type r ecu for it. would that help or no? cuz my cars inspection was due back in October lol but yea im gettin it back on the road now so i needa get it to pas just for the inspection. also does the emissions matter( i kno they do but can i just throw a stock cat in theren get away with it).
