HELP, key wont turn in ignition! car is stranded

HELP, key wont turn in ignition! car is stranded
car was parked. steering locked and key wouldn't turn. usually just wiggle the steering and key turns. couldn't get it to do anything. finally broke the steering free so wheel turns now, key still doesn't turn tho. What do i do??

start taking apart the steering column and take apart the ignition switch, after that you can take it with a screwdriver
try and get a new key cut, or the mechanical part of ur ignition system went bad

my car is havin the same problem I stick my key in go and turn and that **** will not turn for **** its just like not turning at all it stays on OFF completely its pissin me of ) but is it the ign cylinder is that the name for it??? Can u link me to a good deal to buy one... are they hard to install if I have the manuel too the car??? And does it make a diffrence if i have a auto or manuel.. Cuz I have a automatic.

its not that hard to install if you have a manual, just have to drop the steering column covers.

also the ignition switch itself is held by 2 bolts and remove the 5-pin & 7-pin connector. that's it.
