Having cranking problems w/ Hondata & RC440's
When the temp outside is hot or when my motor has cooled off for about 20 minutes, my car acts funny when I try to crank it. Sometimes it has to turn over a lot more than normal and sometimes it cranks, then almost dies and if I give it gas and hold it at 2000 rpm for twenty seconds its ok. If I don't hold the gas it almost dies and then the cel comes on. It reads a code 17 which is VSS-speed sensor. Could this have anything to do with the problems I'm having? The car idles and runs perfect once it's been running for a little while. It cranks normally if the car is cold and the temp is cold.
My setup is JRSC, Hondata 2b, & RC 440s

Daily driving/Performance driving. Should have been a push button switch.

what are you talking about? you have to cut the jumper in the ecu to return
it to stock in order to disable the hondata. but with those injectors its not
recommended.
talk to your tuner about this issue.

Are you sure you're getting a code 17 and not a code 16? I thought I was getting a code 17 once and it was actually a code 16. Code 16 is the fuel injection system...commonly thrown if the wiring is exposed and shorting to something.
If you're having a hard-start problem after the car has run, you can play around with things a little bit by holding the engine at certain rpm's for about 10 secs before you shut it off. Ie, if your car is idling too ruch and you shut it off, it can be hard to start next time because of the excess fuel. Try holding the RPMs at 2000 or 2500 or so for 5 secs and then shut it off.
