The Frankenstein
I want to do the Frankenstein swap to my 98" EX Coupe and would like to know how available the LS bottoms are and if so where are the most reliable places to find them. Also is the purpose of incorporating the LS bottom to the B16a head because of larger displacement? I read the new article in [I]turbo&High-Tech Perfromance [I] they did the Frankenstein swap and only produced 159.7hp and a 123.8lb-ft of torque, from a stock B16a engine that used to produce 135.9hp and 104.3lb-ft of torque. My next question is is the Frankenstein swap worth the money or is it cheaper to keep the B16a. In other words is the extra 23.8hp worth the money if it is extra to do the Frankenstein swap. Also future plans for turbocharging are a goal of mine. How much Hp can I produce with the Frankenstein swap over the B16a I know South Florida Performance's main car the 99' Si produces 449.5hp to the wheels and that's dyno tested. PLEASE someone let me know.

Re: The Frankenstein (Project_SOHC_EX)
The Frankenstein motors such as the LS Vtech or its bigger brother the B20 Vtech I think are not worth the money. The problem with them is the valvles are a little close to the block so you might have problems with bending them. To get a good running Frank you would need to rebuild the whole engine from crank to cam. Specific wise on horsepower i have a friend with a ls with a b20 vtech and a friend with a ITR. The b20 will stay on the bumper of the ITR but no more and the money my friend has spent fixing it or rebuilding certain parts he could have bought the ITR engine. ( THE ITR AND THE B20 VTECH PUT ABOUT THE SAME POWER DOWN)
